What Is Robinhood Chain? What It Is Built On, Gas, Chain ID and What Trades There

Robinhood Chain is a blockchain built by Robinhood: an Ethereum layer-2 network built on Arbitrum technology, live on mainnet since July 1, 2026. Gas is paid in ETH, the chain ID is 4663, and it was built for tokenized stocks, though meme coins quickly became a large share of the trading.

Below is what that means in plain terms, the details you need to connect to it, and how it differs from Solana if you trade small tokens.

Who runs it

Robinhood, the US brokerage, built the chain and publishes its documentation at docs.robinhood.com/chain. It announced the public mainnet on July 1, 2026, after a public testnet period.

It is a separate network from Robinhood's brokerage app. You do not need a Robinhood account to use it. Any wallet that supports custom EVM networks, such as MetaMask or Rabby, can connect to it.

What it is built on

Robinhood's documentation describes the chain as built on Arbitrum's technology for dedicated chains. In practice that means three things:

It is an Ethereum layer-2. Transactions are processed on Robinhood Chain and settled back to Ethereum. Robinhood's docs say it uses Ethereum blobs for data availability, which is the standard way layer-2 networks post their data to Ethereum cheaply.

It is EVM-compatible. Contracts written for Ethereum run on it, and your Ethereum wallet address is the same address here. Tokens are ordinary ERC-20 contracts.

Transactions are ordered first come, first served. The documentation says the sequencer, the component that orders transactions, takes them strictly by arrival time. There is no priority auction to jump the queue.

Blocks are fast. The official explorer's own stats put the average block time at around a tenth of a second.

Gas token and chain ID

| Setting | Value |

|---|---|

| Network name | Robinhood Chain |

| Chain ID | 4663 |

| Gas token | ETH |

| Public RPC | https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com |

| Block explorer | https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com |

Gas is ETH, not a separate coin. Robinhood's docs note the public RPC is rate-limited, so if it fails to connect, check the current value in the official documentation before assuming anything is wrong with your wallet.

There is a test network too, with chain ID 46630. Tokens there have no value, so make sure your wallet says 4663.

To set it up, see how to add Robinhood Chain to MetaMask. To get ETH onto it, see how to bridge ETH to Robinhood Chain. For looking things up on the chain, see the Robinhood Chain explorer lesson.

Is there a Robinhood Chain coin?

No. The chain has no native token of its own and gas is ETH. Robinhood has not announced a token or an airdrop. Any coin calling itself the official Robinhood Chain token is using the name without permission, and hundreds do. This lesson counts them.

What trades on it

Tokenized stocks. The chain's stated purpose. Robinhood's launch announcement named tokenized versions of stocks such as NVDA, GOOG and AAPL. These trade around the clock.

Meme coins. Not the stated purpose, but a large share of the activity. In September 2026 our index saw thousands of new trading pools open on the chain every day, most of them meme coins and most of them empty within a day. A pattern specific to this chain is the stock-paired meme coin, whose pool is quoted in a tokenized stock instead of ETH. The Robinhood Chain meme coins lesson covers where to see the live list and how to check one.

How it differs from Solana for meme trading

If you already trade meme coins on Solana, the main differences are:

Wallet. Solana needs a Solana wallet. Robinhood Chain uses an EVM wallet, the same kind you use on Ethereum.

Gas. You pay gas in ETH, which you bridge in, rather than SOL. Keep enough to sell with.

Pool depth. This is the one that matters. Robinhood Chain is younger and its pools are much thinner. A normal-sized buy can be a visible share of a pool, so your own trade moves the price, and getting out costs more than getting in.

Fewer launches, same base rate. Solana produces far more new tokens. Robinhood Chain produces fewer, but most still go nowhere, and roughly one token in twelve we scanned in a month read HIGH or CRITICAL risk. The breakdown is in Robinhood Chain Scams, Measured.

Before you trade anything on it

Three habits cover most of the risk on a young, thin chain:

  1. Buy by contract address, never by ticker. Popular names are copied hundreds of times.
  2. Scan the contract first. Paste the address into our scanner at /rh to see whether the liquidity can be pulled, who launched it and what their last tokens did, and whether the early buyers were coordinated.
  3. Size against the pool, not your account. Then decide your exit before you buy. The buying guide walks through both.

None of this is a prediction about any token, and none of it is advice to buy. It is how to see what you are buying.

Try it on a live token

The lesson is the method. The product is where you apply it.
