If you searched "pump fun how to buy", the short answer is: put SOL in a Solana wallet, open the token on pump.fun, enter an amount, and confirm. Selling is the same in reverse. This lesson walks through those steps, explains what the bonding curve does to your price, covers the risks, and shows a second route: pasting the contract into a Telegram bot that reads the token first and sets your sells for you.

What pump.fun is

Pump.fun is a Solana launchpad. Anyone can make a token there, and the token starts life on a bonding curve rather than in a trading pool.

A bonding curve is a formula that sets the price from how much of the token has been sold. There is no order book and no other trader on the far side. You buy from the curve and sell back to it. The pump.fun style curve is a constant-product formula: it holds a SOL balance and a token balance, and every buy pushes the price up for the next buyer. Every sell pushes it down.

A few facts matter when you buy:

  • Supply is fixed at one billion tokens. Nobody can mint more.
  • Roughly four fifths of the supply is sold on the curve. The rest is held back for a trading pool.
  • When the curve's tokens are sold, the token graduates. The SOL buyers put in and the held-back supply move into a pool on a decentralised exchange, and trading carries on there.
  • Market cap on a curve token is the curve price times the whole billion. It is a formula result, and it can be far larger than the SOL anyone has put in.

The bonding curve lesson goes deeper.

Pump fun how to buy, step by step

  1. Get a Solana wallet. A browser or phone wallet such as Phantom works. Write down the recovery phrase and keep it offline.
  2. Fund it with SOL. Buy SOL on an exchange and withdraw it to your wallet address. Keep a little extra for network fees, so you can still sell later.
  3. Find the right token. Copy the contract address from a source you trust and search it on pump.fun. Do not search by ticker. Many tokens share a name, and copies are common.
  4. Connect your wallet and approve the connection.
  5. Enter an amount in SOL and check the slippage setting. A curve moves with every order, so a very tight setting will fail. A very loose one lets someone else take the difference.
  6. Confirm in your wallet. The tokens arrive once the transaction lands.

How to sell on pump.fun

Selling is the same screen in reverse. Open the token, choose sell, enter how much of your position to sell, and confirm. Before graduation you sell back to the curve. After graduation you sell into the trading pool, and any Solana swap app can route that sale too.

The hard part of selling is not the button. It is deciding when. Prices on new curve tokens move fast in both directions, and most people who lose money had no plan for when to take some off.

The risks

  • Most new tokens go nowhere. That is the base rate on every chain, and pump.fun launches are no exception.
  • The first buyers can be one person. A group of launch wallets funded from one place can hold a large share and sell into you. The curve prices the token; it does not know who bought it.
  • The curve cannot be pulled, but that is only one kind of rug. Nobody can withdraw a bonding curve, and the pool's starting liquidity is burned at graduation. A holder with a large share of supply can still sell it.
  • The pool is what you can sell into. Market cap can read in the millions while the pool holds a few tens of SOL.
  • Copies. A copied name and image can sit next to the real token. The contract address is the only reliable way to tell them apart.

The other route: buy from a Telegram bot

The PumpPill Trade Bot lives in Telegram as @PumpPill_Trade_Bot. Instead of a website and a browser wallet, you paste the contract into a chat.

  1. Open the bot and press Start. Choose Trade Solana instead, then create a Solana wallet or import one. A new wallet's key is shown once. Back it up.
  2. Fund it with SOL, sent to the address on the Wallet screen.
  3. Paste the contract. The token card comes back with the price and three Buy sizes you set once in Settings. The bot buys through a swap router, so it works best once a token has graduated to a trading pool. If a token is still on the curve and the bot finds no route, you can still tap Scan for the read, then buy it on pump.fun as above.
  4. Tap Scan before you buy. The read comes back as a reply. The first line answers "Early?" and "Risk". Then come what the contract lets its owner do, whether the launch buyers have sold, whether tracked wallets were seen buying, the holder count and the top ten's share, and who is posting it on X. On Solana it adds the developer's record and GMGN's checks. You get three fresh scans a day, twenty as a linked Premium member. For the full read, including who funded the launch buyers, paste the same contract into the Scanner.
  5. Tap a size. The bot buys and replies "Bought". A small fee comes out of each trade and is shown on that message.
  6. Let the take-profits work. The default ladder sells fifty-five percent when the price doubles, ten percent each at 3x, 5x, 8x and 10x, and leaves five percent to ride, all measured from the price you paid. On Solana the ladder arms on the buy when Auto Sell is on for your account. If it is not, the held token shows an Arm Auto-Sell ladder button that sets it in one tap. You can change any step and add a stop-loss.
  7. Sell by hand any time. Type /sell and tap a position for its sell buttons, in percent. To take SOL out, tap Withdraw on the Solana screen.

The bot keeps an encrypted copy of your key so it can sign the trades you ask for, and /export shows the key again after a warning. Fund it with what you mean to trade, not with everything you own.

See three real screens of one trade on the Trade Bot page, read How to use the PumpPill Trade Bot for the full walkthrough, or open @PumpPill_Trade_Bot and paste a contract.

What it does not tell you

  • The steps above get you in and out. They do not tell you which tokens to buy.
  • A scan reads the token at that moment. It does not predict the price, and a clean read is not a reason to buy.
  • A ladder cannot know where the peak will be, and the five percent left to ride may ride down.
  • Pump.fun sets its own curve, fees and graduation rules, and can change them. Check its site for the current ones.
  • Whatever route you use, size your buy against the pool you will sell into, not against your balance.

You found a coin. How do you check it, buy it, and set your exits without watching the chart all night? The PumpPill Trade Bot is a Telegram bot. It reads a coin, buys it, and sells in steps as the price climbs, on Robinhood Chain and Solana. Step one. Open PumpPill Trade Bot in Telegram, press Start, and tap Generate wallet. It makes your Robinhood Chain wallet and shows its key once. Back it up. The Solana wallet is made from the Solana screen. Step two. Fund it from the address on the Wallet screen: E T H for Robinhood Chain, S O L for Solana. Step three. Paste a contract address. The bot answers with a token card: price, liquidity, and three buy sizes you set once in Settings, kept apart per chain. Step four. Before you buy, tap Scan. The read comes back in the chat under the token; its first line answers two questions: am I early, and what is my risk. You get three fresh scans a day, twenty as a linked Premium member; a stored read does not count, a failed fresh scan does. Then the reasons. What the contract lets its owner do. Whether the first buyers have sold. Whether tracked wallets were seen buying. The holders, and what the top ten own. And what it could not read; unread never counts as a pass. The same reply shows who is posting the coin on X: real accounts, their reach, bots and shills filtered out. Step five. Tap a size. The bot buys at once and replies Bought, with what you spent and your entry price. On Robinhood Chain a second message follows: Auto Sell armed. By default it sells fifty-five percent when the price doubles, ten percent each at three, five, eight and ten X, and leaves five percent to ride. Every target is measured from the price you paid. Open Auto Sell to change any step, or add a stop loss, a sell if the price falls to a level you pick. On Solana the steps arm on the buy when Auto Sell is on for your account. Trade only Solana here and nothing arms by itself: tap Arm Auto Sell ladder on the coin you hold. Step six. Positions shows what you hold and your entry. Orders lists each armed step; cancel one or the whole ladder. Slash sell sells by hand: tap the position. Step seven. To take money out, tap Withdraw. The bot asks for the address, then the amount, then shows both with Confirm send. Solana: the same, from its own screen. There is no subscription. Your key is stored encrypted and used only to sign the trades you ask for. Slash export shows it again after a warning and a tap, and deletes itself after sixty seconds. Two opt-ins stay off until you switch them on. Auto-buy buys a coin once, when it first passes your filters from the site. FOMO alerts: one message when several FOMO app traders buy one coin in an hour. What it does not tell you. A scan reads the coin right now; it does not predict the price, and a clean read is not a reason to buy. The exits sell at targets from your entry; they cannot see the top, and the five percent left to ride can ride down. Here is what to do. Open PumpPill Trade Bot in Telegram, paste one contract, and tap Scan before you tap a size.
