By the time a coin is trending, its first move has already happened. Range Finder, at /range-finder, lists the quiet ones: tokens whose market cap has stayed between the same low and high for days. This lesson explains what a coil is, what each column means, how the three signs are measured, how the filters work, and what the breakouts rail is telling you.

What it is

A coil is a token trading sideways in a tight band. On Range Finder, a token qualifies when the high of its band is at most 1.8 times the low, the band has held for at least a day and a half, and the middle of the band sits between seventy-five thousand and one million dollars of market cap. PumpPill checks the list every thirty minutes.

The board shows the tokens that have held their range longest. A note above the table gives two counts: how many tokens are in a range right now, and how many of those the board is showing. It reads "N tokens are in a range right now. These M have held theirs longest." Each row carries PumpPill's risk read and a Buy button, because a quiet range is not the same thing as a safe token. The video: "Quiet does not mean safe. So each row also carries our risk read."

How to use it

  1. Open /range-finder. The table loads with every chain and every market cap shown.
  2. Pick a chain with the All, Solana and Robinhood tabs.
  3. Pick a market-cap band: Any, Under $250K, $250K to $1M, or Over $1M. The band follows the live market cap, so a row can move bands as prices tick.
  4. Pick a minimum time in range: Any, 3 days+, or 7 days+.
  5. Click any column heading to sort by it. Sorting by "In range" puts the longest coils first; sorting by "Where it sits" puts the tokens pressing their top at one end.
  6. Hover a word in the Signs column. Each sign has a hover note that spells out its rule.
  7. Click a row. The read slides in from the side with "Am I early?", "What's my risk?" and the reasons. Press Escape or click away to close it.
  8. Read the "Broke out recently" rail on the right. Each entry links to the token's read on /scan.

How to read what it shows

Token. The symbol, its chain, and the name.

Now. The market cap right now, from the live price when one has landed. The indicator beside the table reads "live, 4s ago" or "stored data".

In range. How many days the market cap has held inside this band, to one decimal. This is the true count: the detector walks back through its own checks to the last one that sat outside the band, so a brief dip does not reset the number.

Where it sits in its range. A bar from the range low to the range high, with a marker where the market cap sits now. A marker past the right edge turns yellow: the token is above its range top.

Last checks. A small line of the recent thirty-minute checks: the shape of the last day or so.

Signs. Patterns inside the range. There are three, and a row with none of them reads "flat".

  • Higher lows. The lowest market cap in the recent half of the range is above the lowest in the earlier half, by at least two percent. Buyers are stepping in sooner.
  • Volume drying. Trading volume over the recent half of the range is at least ten percent below the earlier half, measured on the median. Sellers are running out.
  • Warming. Two or more of four checks are true right now: volume at 1.3 times the range's usual volume, at least ten percent more buyers than sellers, liquidity up two percent since the range began, and the market cap in the top third of the range. The hover note lists all four with a tick or a cross.

Volume drying and warming can show on the same row. Volume drying is measured over days; warming is a reading from right now. A token can have faded for a week and be waking up this half hour. The hover note says so when both are present.

Volume 24h. Dollar volume over the last day.

Our read. The one-word risk read: Low, Medium or High. "Unclear" means the stored read has no one-word risk; "n/a" means there is no read. Click the row for the reasons.

Buy. Opens @PumpPill_Trade_Bot in Telegram with the contract loaded.

The breakouts rail. A break is the market cap moving more than ten percent above the top of its range. Volume is recorded on the break but is not required for it. Each entry follows one template: "Left [range low] to [range high] at [market cap on the break] on [multiple]x its usual volume. [multiple]x at its peak since." A token too young to have a peak reads "too new to score", and one that went nowhere reads "flat since". Every break is logged, winners and losers alike. The same log of breakouts is what the Every call table on /tables shows for Robinhood Chain.

What it does not tell you

Range Finder does not say that a coil will break, or which way.

A break is a fact about the market cap crossing a line. It is not a signal that the move will hold. Read the "at its peak since" figures on the rail with the flat ones beside them.

The signs are pattern descriptions, not forecasts. Higher lows means buyers stepped in sooner over the recent half of the window; it does not mean they will keep doing so.

The risk read on the row is a stored read. Open it and check the time stamp before you treat it as current.

Range Finder covers Solana and Robinhood Chain and a market-cap band from seventy-five thousand to one million dollars at admission. A token outside that band when first seen is not on the list.

Try it

Open /range-finder, set In range to 7 days+, and sort by "Where it sits in its range". Hover the Signs on the top three rows, then click one to read its risk before you look at anything else.

By the time a coin is trending, the first move has already happened. PumpPill Range Finder lists the quiet ones: coins that have traded between the same low and high for days. Each row shows that range, how many days it has held, and where the price sits inside it. Filter by chain, by market cap, and by days in range. We re-check the list every thirty minutes. When a coin climbs ten percent above the top of its range, it moves to Broke Out. We log every break, and how far it went after. Quiet does not mean safe. So each row also carries our risk read.
