Agentic trading: set up your AI agent to trade Robinhood Chain
Agentic trading means your own AI agent buys Robinhood Chain tokens for you, from your PumpPill Trade Bot wallet, on rules you set. You pick the rules on the PumpPill website, connect your agent once, and from then on it checks your rule on a schedule and buys what newly matches. PumpPill reads each token before any buy and refuses a red flag, your limits apply to every order, and every order lands in your Telegram with a button that turns the agent off. This guide covers the whole setup, step by step, and how to run it day to day.
Is it auto-trading?
It can be, and that is your choice. Nothing trades by itself: your agent places each order, and the agent is switched off until you turn it on in the trade bot.
- Hands-off. An agent that runs on a schedule (Claude Code, a scheduled Claude task, Cursor, or any always-on agent) checks your rule every few minutes and buys new matches while you are busy.
- Hands-on. In a chat window, or with "Ask me first" chosen, your agent asks "Buy 0.02 ETH of $SYMBOL?" and waits for your yes.
A chat window only acts while you are talking to it. For buying on its own you need an agent that keeps running.
What you need
- A Robinhood Chain wallet in @PumpPill_Trade_Bot on Telegram, with some ETH in it.
- An AI agent that can connect to an MCP server and send a header: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline or VS Code. ChatGPT cannot send the agent key, so it can read PumpPill's data but cannot place trades.
- About five minutes.
Agent trading is open to everyone for 30 days from the day you make your first agent key. After that it is part of PumpPill Premium. Premium members are never cut off.
Before you start: build your rule on Customize
Open pumppill.org/customize. Every filter is on one page, in groups:
- Wallets: proven wallets bought it, a whale bought it, a wallet you follow bought it, FOMO traders bought it (at least N traders in a time window), not being dumped.
- X: real X accounts posted the contract, several accounts posted it, the project's own X account.
- Momentum: price is up, volume is building, more buys than sells.
- Chart: higher lows, volume building gradually, holding its range, buying increasing, tightening range.
- Safety: top 10 wallets hold under a share, not a bundled launch, clean developer, pool size, can be sold.
- Size and age: market cap between two numbers, younger than N days.
Switch on what a token must pass and set each one. An example rule: FOMO traders bought it, at least 2 in the last 24 hours, and Market cap between $0 and $500K.
Under "What passes right now" the page shows the tokens that pass your rule today, judged by PumpPill. If nothing passes, your agent buys nothing. You do not need to save the setup for your agent to use it.
Scroll to the card An AI agent that trades it and choose:
- ETH per buy, for example 0.02.
- Most buys a day, for example 3.
- Check every: 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
- Before a buy: "Buy on its own" or "Ask me first".
The card writes your agent's instructions, including a rule code that starts with pp1.. The rule code is your filters, packed into one line. Change a filter and the code changes with it.
Step 1: make your agent key in the trade bot
- Open @PumpPill_Trade_Bot in Telegram.
- Tap Settings, then AI agent.
- Tap Make an agent key. The key starts with
ppa_and is shown once. Save it somewhere safe and delete the message. Treat it like a password: anyone with it can trade from that wallet within your limits. - Set your Per-buy max and Daily max for the agent (send a number like 0.05, or 0 for no limit). These are on top of the Spending limits you may already have in Settings, and both apply to every agent buy.
- Leave Red flags: refused on unless you have a reason to change it.
- Tap Turn agent ON.
Making your first key starts your 30 days. Making a new key later stops the old one at once and does not restart the 30 days. Delete key stops it for good.
Step 2: connect your agent
Add PumpPill's server to your agent with the key as a header. Replace ppa_your_key with your key.
- Claude Code, in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http pumppill https://api.pumppill.org/mcp --header "X-Agent-Key: ppa_your_key" - Cursor, Windsurf, Cline: in the client's MCP settings file (Cursor's is ~/.cursor/mcp.json), add
{ "mcpServers": { "pumppill": { "url": "https://api.pumppill.org/mcp", "headers": { "X-Agent-Key": "ppa_your_key" } } } } - VS Code: in .vscode/mcp.json, add
{ "servers": { "pumppill": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.pumppill.org/mcp", "headers": { "X-Agent-Key": "ppa_your_key" } } } } - Claude Desktop and other clients that only run local servers: use the bridge
npx -y mcp-remote https://api.pumppill.org/mcp --header "X-Agent-Key:ppa_your_key"as the server's command.
To check the connection, ask your agent: "Call agent_status." It should answer with your agent switch, your wallet's ETH, your limits and what is left today. The same steps are on pumppill.org/for-agents.
Step 3: paste the instructions
Back on Customize, press Copy instructions and paste them into your agent. They read like this, with your own rule and numbers:
- Every 10 minutes, call
rule_matcheswith your rule code. It lists the tokens that pass all your filters right now. - The first time, remember that list and buy nothing. After that, a token is new if it was not in the list at the last check.
- For each new token, call
agent_buywith its address and your ETH per buy (or ask you first, if you chose that). - PumpPill reads the token before every buy and may refuse it. If it refuses, do not retry that token; tell you the reason.
- Place at most your number of buys a day.
- Do not sell. Your Auto Sell in the trade bot takes profits.
The first check buys nothing on purpose: tokens that already pass when you start are not bought, only new ones.
To let it run on its own, keep the agent running on a schedule. In Claude Code, for example, run the instructions on a repeating interval or as a scheduled task. In a plain chat window the agent only checks when you talk to it.
What happens on every order
- Your agent asks PumpPill which tokens pass your rule. PumpPill judges the filters on its side, the same way the Customize page does.
- For a new match, your agent files a buy. Before anything is placed, PumpPill reads the token. A HIGH or CRITICAL read, or a token PumpPill has not read yet, is refused, your agent is told why, and nothing is spent.
- Your limits are checked. Per-buy max, daily max, and no token bought twice in a day.
- The order is written down before it is placed, with a fingerprint, and cannot be edited afterwards.
- The trade bot places it, the same as a tap on the Buy button: the normal bot fee applies and your Auto Sell take-profits arm on the position.
- You get a Telegram message for every order, bought or refused, with Turn agent off under it.
Reading the Telegram messages
A buy looks like this: "Agent order #13: buying 0.02 ETH of PUMPPILL. PumpPill's read: Low. Today: 0.02 of your 0.5 ETH agent daily max", followed by the bot's usual Bought message.
A refusal looks like this: "Agent order refused, #12. Your agent asked to buy 0.05 ETH of VELVET. Why: PumpPill's read of this token is HIGH. Nothing was spent."
Tap Turn agent off on any of them and your agent's next order is refused until you switch it back on.
Staying in control
- Off switch: Turn agent off, on any order message or on the AI agent screen.
- Limits: Per-buy max and Daily max on the AI agent screen, plus your Spending limits in Settings.
- Red flags: refused by default. If you switch to "allowed", red-flag buys go through and you are still told the read.
- Keys: New key replaces the old one at once; Delete key removes it.
- Sells: your agent can sell with
agent_sell(a percent of a holding) if you ask it to. A sell is never refused for the token's read. Auto Sell handles take-profits either way. - The agent never sees your wallet key. Your wallet stays encrypted in the trade bot; the agent key only lets it file orders inside your limits.
When something is refused or fails
- "The member has the agent switched off": turn it on in Settings, AI agent.
- "PumpPill's read of this token is HIGH": the safety read found a serious problem. Nothing was spent.
- "PumpPill has no read of this token yet": PumpPill has not read it. Wait for the read, or switch red-flag refusal off if you accept that risk.
- "Over your agent per-buy max" or "daily max": your own limits. The daily max resets at 00:00 UTC.
- "Your agent already bought this token in the last 24 hours": a repeat match, refused so a rule that is checked every few minutes does not buy the same token again.
- "The 30-day agent trading trial for this account has ended": agent trading continues with Premium.
- "More than 60 agent orders in an hour": a loop guard. Check your instructions.
The tools your agent uses
rule_matches: the tokens passing your Customize rule right now, with each filter's reading.agent_buy: one buy, in ETH, after PumpPill's read and your limits.agent_sell: sell a percent of a holding.agent_order: the result of one order: filed, running, done (with the transaction), failed, refused or skipped.agent_status: your switch, wallet ETH, limits, what is left today, and your last five orders.
The same server answers questions too: whats_moving, fomo_gathering, room_calls, best_calls and the safety reads. Your agent can use them to explain a match before it buys.
What it does not do
PumpPill does not pick trades. The rule is yours, and a token passing it is a match, not a recommendation. A clean read is evidence about the contract, not a forecast of the price, and most new tokens fall back after a move. Set limits you are comfortable losing.
Try it
Build a rule on Customize, make your agent key in @PumpPill_Trade_Bot under Settings, AI agent, and paste the instructions into your agent. You have 30 days from your first key.
The lesson is the method. The product is where you apply it.
